It’s Sunday night and before late-night TV fans close out their week, they typically look for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver to help. So what should audiences expect to see tonight on HBO?

Last week, John Oliver joined the rather long list of late-night TV hosts who didn’t have new content. Instead, HBO dedicated its Sunday night schedule to House of the Dragon.

Expect more of the same this week. There will not be a new episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Considering tomorrow is Labor Day, it makes sense that Oliver and his team are enjoying another well-deserved break.

So once again, HBO will make it all about House Targaryen tonight. Episode three premieres at 9:00 p.m. ET. The network will replay the episode immediately after, overlapping Last Week Tonight‘s normal timeslot.

When does Last Week Tonight with John Oliver return?

Late-night TV fans may be worried that House of the Dragon has pushed Last Week Tonight with John Oliver to the side permanently. But that’s not the case; both shows will start to coexist next week.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is scheduled to return with a new episode on September 11. Until then, viewers have a few options when it comes to getting their fix of John Oliver.

The show’s YouTube channel features Oliver’s deep dives as well as some web exclusives. HBO Max subscribers also have access to past episodes.
