It’s Labor Day Weekend, marking the unofficial end of summer and the start of fall. So what does that mean for Saturday Night Live fans looking for a new episode.

We know that the fall season brings new episodes of SNL. And ahead of season 48, fans are eager to see what the show will look like without Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kyle Mooney, Melissa Villasenor, Alex Moffat, and Aristotle Athari.

Unfortunately, SNL fans won’t get that answer on Saturday. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Season 48 isn’t quite ready to go yet. With major changes going on both behind and in front of the camera, SNL has some major preparations to go through.

When does Saturday Night Live season 48 premiere?

NBC has yet to announce an official start date for Saturday Night Live season 48. However, we can make an educated guess based on past seasons.

Season 47 premiered on October 2, 2021. Before that, season 46 arrived on October 3, 2020. Season 45 hit the airwaves on September 28, 2019.

So looking at the calendar, we can get a pretty good idea of when Saturday Night Live will return. The best guess would be October 1, 2022.

We still don’t have any idea about who will host the season premiere. If fans had their way, it would be either Billy Eichner or Zendaya. We’ll have to wait and see who SNL picks.
