Stephen Colbert goes viral after attacking “liar” Dr. Oz for many “scams”
Stephen Colbert‘s excellent breakdown of television’s Dr. Oz earlier this year is resurfacing on Twitter this week.
Duty To Warn tweeted a now widely popular quote from the late-night host: “Now, I’d like to list all the scams Dr. Oz has tried to foist on his audience, but we only have an hour show.”
Colbert’s comments came after Donald Trump had endorsed the retired surgeon to stand as a Republican senator in Pennsylvania. Despite receiving approval from possibly the most influential political figure on the right in the United States, Dr. Oz has faced a major backlash for his muddled political campaign.
Stephen Colbert: Dr Oz is a “liar”
Back in 2021, when Oz had first announced his run, Colbert brutally mocked the television personality, branding him a “liar”.
“Before his run, Dr. Oz had a lucrative career as a liar, peddling questionable health advice on TV,” Colbert told viewers. The Late Show host went on to discuss ongoing concerns over the fact Oz has been “living in New Jersey” for years whilst running in a different state.
Even Trump is now allegedly furious for endorsing Oz. New reports are suggesting that the former president is “panicking” about backing the television personality due to Oz’s non-sensical campaign.
Donald Trump’s public association with Oz is notably more than just a quiet endorsement. Dr. Oz has been a guest speaker at Trump’s rallies. In addition, the television doctor had been praised by Trump for his apparent loyalty to the MAGA movement.
Take a look at the campaign video Oz released after receiving the endorsement:
According to a new Fox News poll, Dr. Oz is now trailing his Democrat opponent, with a large proportion of his supporters unenthusiastic about their upcoming voting decision.
