Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, August 16?
By Matt Moore
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert left fans hanging on Monday night. So what should late-night TV audiences expect to see tonight on CBS?
Many viewers tuned in, hoping to hear a Stephen Colbert monologue covering the latest developments in the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago. Instead, they were treated to a repeat episode from June.
Don’t expect that to change on Tuesday. There will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Instead, CBS will reair the July 25 episode. Representative Jamie Raskin was the guest that night, giving Colbert insight into the January 6 committee hearings. Death Cab for Cutie served as the musical guest.
What to watch instead of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight
The Late Show won’t be the only program in reruns on Tuesday night. Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Late Late Show with James Corden both take the night off.
However, there are other options for late-night TV fans. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has a brand new episode on NBC. Demi Lovato kicks off a week-long stay, while The White Lotus actor Murray Bartlett also joins the show.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! also has fresh content for anyone watching ABC. Former senator Al Franken will be tonight’s guest host. He’ll chat with Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk and Representative Katie Porter. Los Lobos will be the musical guest.
Over on Comedy Central, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah also returns with a new show. Look for Sterling K. Brown to be the guest.
