Bill Maher went on an outspoken rant this week on his Club Random Podcast, telling Bert Kreischer that America’s students “don’t know anything”.

The HBO host sat down with the comedian during Monday night’s episode, leading into a passionate conversation regarding the intelligence of America’s youth.

Maher admitted, “I feel like America is just letting itself go in every possible way. I mean the education.. it must be just at a level that.. I can’t imagine what goes on during a day in a school.”

Maher told Kreischer he’d reached his opinion through watching a variety of social media clips in which students were asked basic-level questions and failed to answer them.

Bill Maher admits: “I don’t know how long a country can survive with this level of no information in the head.”

“They don’t know anything. And I don’t know how long a country can survive with this level of no information in the head,” the host continued.

Maher has been known for making particularly bold statements on America’s youth in recent months. He recently spoke out on the rise in young people identifying as LGBTQ+, claiming it has become “trendy”.

Maher has also criticised Generation Z for political contradictions. In November of last year, he told viewers on Real Time: “You say you love Greta and her message but everything else you love is a climate disaster. Far from rejecting consumerism, young people are so obsessed with labels.”

“I wish your generation was better than mine. But the sad truth is, we’re completely the same.”
