Jeopardy! returned on Tuesday night with another brand new episode. After “Final Jeopardy!” stumped all three players the night before, what was in store tonight?
Despite no player coming up with the correct response on Monday night, the new champion came away with a decent jackpot.
Who is the current Jeopardy! champion?
Ed Coulson, an economics and real estate professor from Dana Point, California, is the current Jeopardy! champion. His one-day total was $17,399.
On Tuesday, he faced off against Alexa Jakob, an electrical engineer from Queens, New York, and Mark Stover, a physician from Flagstaff, Arizona.
Coulson jumped out to an early lead in the “Jeopardy!” round with $7,200. Stover wasn’t too far behind with $5,000, while Jakob landed in third with $2,800.
“Double Jeopardy!” saw Coulson extend his lead. He finished the round with $16,000. In second came Stover with $11,400 followed by Jakob with $4,800.
Coulson and Stover both answered “Final Jeopardy!” correctly. However, Stover didn’t wager enough to catch the champion. Coulson became a two-day winner with a jackpot totaling $40,200.
