Her opponents on Monday included Angela Xu, a corporate lawyer from San Mateo, California, and Ed Coulson, an economics and real estate professor from Dana Point, California.

It was a tight game after the “Jeopardy” round with all three players scoring well. Coulson led 2ith $5,000, followed by Xu with $3,600 and Fossett with $3,400.

Coulson extended the lead during the “Double Jeopardy!” round, finishing with $18,700. Xu stayed in second with $10,00, while Fossett trailed with $7,000.

“Final Jeopardy!” stumped all three players, so it all came down to wagers. Coulson bet the smallest amount and it paid off. He became the new Jeopardy! champion with $17,399.
