Tom Segura had some harsh words for the Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon on a recent podcast appearance.

The comedian told hosts of the Pardon My Take podcast recently: “Fallon’s [debut] was so ******* terrible.”

“You get comfortable doing it. Those guys, they tape five a week, they never have weeks off, they do it so much,” he said.

Segura continued, noting Fallon’s debut interview with Robert De Niro, admitting he felt it was a “horrible” decision. “He [De Niro] is notoriously quiet.”

“You could see him [Fallon] trying so hard.” The guest continued, “It was clearly just odd”.

Despite being unfamiliar with a more mainstream audience, Segura has made several attempts in recent years to latch on to the appeal of names such as Chappelle and Gervais. The comedian’s latest comedy special, Ball Hog, released in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, failed to produce much traction amongst his most avid followers, with many labelling the special lazy and unoriginal.

Is The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon airing this week?

Unfortunately for regular fans, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is taking a summer break alongside a number of other late night shows.

We can expect Fallon to reappear on our screens around the same time Stephen Colbert will also return, likely towards the end of July.

We can expect however, for the Tonight Show YouTube channel to continue uploading highlights and compilations from segments and interviews from previous years. Fans can also check Fallon’s social media pages for any takes the host may have over there.
