Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is set to join The Late Show‘s Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night. This comes after the shock Supreme Court ruling this week, overturning Roe v Wade, a matter in which the Congresswomen has fought against.

Ocasio-Cortez has appeared numerous times on the late night show, often speaking openly about her career and political opponents. It’s likely we will see Colbert press the Congresswomen for comment on the recent Supreme Court ruling on Roe v Wade, a decision which has now shaken the nation into political instability.

Ocasio Cortez has been hugely vocal in her opposition to the ruling in recent days, using online platforms and press interviews to express disapproval.

Speaking on Meet The Press last weekend, Ocasio Cortez said: “What I believe that the president and the Democratic Party needs to come to terms with is that this is not just a crisis of Roe, this is a crisis of our democracy, this is a crisis of legitimacy and President Biden must address that”.

Colbert blasts Roe v Wade Supreme Court leak last month

It seems Colbert and AOC may find lots of common ground on this week’s episode if the issue is brought to the table on the CBS show. Last month, when a draft for the ruling was leaked, Colbert told viewers, “Congratulations, ladies, your decisions are being made by four dudes and a woman who thinks ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ is a rom-com.”

The host continued: “Now, I’m not a lawyer; I can’t tell you if Roe was rightly decided. But I can tell you that it’s an important precedent that has been repeatedly reaffirmed. And that’s not my opinion. It’s the opinion of these clowns.”
