Happy Father’s Day to all those celebrating the holiday! And like with any holiday, Saturday Night Live wants to help commemorate the day.

SNL holiday sketches are among the best ones produced by the show over the past 47 seasons. Whether it’s Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, or Mother’s Day, SNL just knows how to capture the highs and lows of any holiday.

Unfortunately, Saturday Night Live seasons always end before June. It means the show never gets to do an official Father’s Day episode or put together a sketch explicitly about the holiday.

However, SNL does have a long history of sketches all about dads. Embarrassing dads, hilarious dads, terrifying dads, and just about every other kind of dad have been featured over the years.

Saturday Night Live dads take center stage in this compilation

So while Saturday Night Live may not have an official Father’s Day sketch, it still has plenty of material to go through to honor dads.

Check out the highlight package below to see some classic Saturday Night Live sketches about dads. Will Ferrell, Andy Samberg, Pete Davidson, and more fan-favorite cast members appear, along with hosts like Jonah Hill, Drake, and Adam Driver.

While there are some all-timers in this collection, it’s hard to beat Adam Driver as the oil baron Abraham H. Parnassus. The 2018 sketch proved that Driver was among the best hosts in recent SNL history.

From the start, Driver brought an absurdity and intensity to the role that had cast members Pete Davidson and Aidy Bryant ready to break. The Star Wars actor quickly won over the audience, too, and helped make one of SNL’s best sketches to watch this Father’s Day.
