English football icon, Harry Kane set sail to the United States this week, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The Tottenham Hotspur football player made his first ever appearance on a US late night couch.

The two started their conversation discussing a possible move for Kane to the NFL later in his career. Fallon asked the Premier League star: “If ever emergency need be, and they need a kicker, for the Buccaneers, or the Giants, or the New York Jets, could you step in? Would you be a good kicker? Could you kick field goals?”

“Erm, I mean, I feel like I could! I’d put myself up there for sure.”

Kane is currently one of the Premier League’s most sought after players, scoring 17 goals this season for London based team, Tottenham Hotspur. The player was previously linked to a move to Manchester City in 2021.

The Tonight Show host continued, asking Kane about his new friendship with Tom Brady. The footballer told viewers he first began speaking with the NFL legend on Instagram via direct message.

Kane inspired by Brady

Harry Kane explained to Jimmy Fallon how Tom Brady inspired him during his early football years. He told Tonight Show viewers: “One thing that did inspire me growing up was actually a Tom Brady documentary.”

“I was away at another club on loan. And I wasn’t getting in the team, and it was kind of that period … I was 18 years old; it was like, ‘if I can’t play here, how can I play for my team Tottenham?'”

Kane told Fallon it was Brady’s documentary which gave him hope in his talent. He said, “It [documentary] was kind of about how he got picked in the sixth round and then become who he become – one of the greatest sportsmen ever. It just gave me a real belief”.
