Saturday Night Live is back tonight for the season 47 finale. So who should SNL fans expect to see take the stage tonight on NBC?

It has been the year of the first-timer when it comes to Saturday Night Live hosts this season. Only four hosts were returning guests all season long.

The trend will continue tonight with the season 47 finale. Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne will make her SNL debut as host. She’ll be supported by Japanese Breakfast as the musical guest.

Over the past few seasons, the finale episodes have been hosted by Anya Taylor-Joy, Kristen Wiig, and Paul Rudd. Lyonne’s inclusion in this group is a testament to her talents and popularity.

What to expect from Natasha Lyonne on Saturday Night Live

Hosting Saturday Night Live is no easy task. It can be even more nerve-wracking if it’s the host’s first time. Add in that it’s the season finale and should be an emotional episode, and it’s safe to say Natasha Lyonne has her work cut out for her.

But Lyonne isn’t afraid of the spotlight. She’s known for her roles in the American Pie movies, Orange Is the New Black, and Russian Doll. Lyonne has played a wide range of characters and proven her comedy chops time and time again. SNL should be another avenue for her to show off her talents.

Don’t be surprised if Lyonne gets an assist tonight, either. Among her Russian Doll co-creators is SNL alum Amy Poehler. Cameos are common in season finales, so Poehler would be an obvious choice. And although she recently broke up with Fred Armisen, Lyonne revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the two still talk frequently. Armisen is another former cast member who could pop up tonight.

There is an outside chance that no cameos happen and Lyonne is asked to step back and let certain cast members shine. According to Deadline, tonight is the last episode for Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, and Kyle Mooney.

Saturday Night Live airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. It also streams live on Peacock.
