PREVIEW: Ricky Gervais reunites with Late Show’s Stephen Colbert
After years since the comedian’s last appearance at the Ed Sullivan Theatre, Ricky Gervais will sit down with Stephen Colbert this week.
Gervais will make an appearance on The Late Show, soon after announcing his new Netflix comedy special, SuperNature.
Earlier this month, Netflix released a preview of the comedian’s latest special across social media platforms. The full special is set to be released on May 24 across the world.
Ricky Gervais is no stranger to late night shows, making previous appearances on Craig Ferguson, David Letterman and of course, Colbert.
Indeed, it seems every time the comedian returns to the Late Show, online fans can’t get enough. In 2017, the comedian engaged in a heated debate about religion with the Colbert, discussing religious belief and atheism. The clipped segment now has over 13 million views on YouTube alone.
Ricky Gervais lands in New York ahead of SuperNature release
The comedian has already touched down in New York ahead of his appearance this week. Today on Twitter, Gervais captured a photo of his partner, Jane in Central Park.
Gervais has made no efforts to keep his name out of public view in recent weeks, just recently making a cameo appearance on Piers Morgan’s new Fox Nation show.
The comedian told viewers: “The producers of Piers Morgan’s new show contacted me and asked me if I’d like to be a guest. I said, ‘Definitely not'”.
“They said would you mind doing a quick video wishing him luck? I said, ‘Do I have to mean it?’ They said “No”. I said “Good luck”.
Ricky Gervais returns to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this Tuesday at 11:35 pm EDT.
