Jeopardy! fans are still getting used to seeing a game without Mattea Roach. Instead, it has been Danielle Maurer as the returning champion. So, how did she do on Tuesday night?
Maurer, a digital marketing manager from Peachtree Corners, Georgia, defeated Roach last Friday. She followed that up with another victory on Monday night, bringing her two-day total to $27,999.
On Tuesday, she faced off against Cherry Ignacio, a software product manager from Maryland Heights, Missouri, and Mallory Kass, a children’s book editor from Brooklyn, New York.
Who won Jeopardy! tonight?
Mallory Kass got a fast start out of the gates in the “Jeopardy!” round. She finished with $8,300, giving herself a comfortable lead over Danielle Maurer ($1,800) and Cherry Ignacio ($1,200).
However, Maurer came roaring back in “Double Jeopardy”. She hit on both “Daily Double” questions on her way to banking $13,400. Kass sat in second with $9,100, while Ignacio remained in third with $2,800.
Kass was the only player to correctly respond to “Final Jeopardy!” tonight. She wagered just enough to overtake Maurer and become the new Jeopardy! champion.

Danielle Maurer incorrectly wrote down “Coachella and Burning Man” as her response, while Cherry Ignacio went with “Woodstock and Lollapalooza.” It cost Maurer $4,801; on the other hand, Mallory Kass added $5,000 to her winning total.
