Mike Tyson joined Bill Maher on the Club Random podcast this week. Maher admitted, shortly into the episode, that he never flies on commercial flights anymore.

Mike Tyson began, revealing his affection to flying with Jet Blue during a discussion about a recent altercation the boxer had on a flight at San Francisco International Airport. The passenger was reportedly provoking the heavyweight boxer beforehand.

It was just recently announced however that Tyson will not face any charges after punching the passenger.

“Our decision is that we will not file any charges against Mr. Tyson based on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation,” Mateo County district attorney Steve Wagstaffe reported.

“These include the conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson that no charges be filed in this case.”

Maher admits to never flying commercial

Maher responded to Tyson, admitting he never chooses to fly on commercial flights.

He told Tyson: “I have not flown commercial practically in this century. And I used to hide it because I thought, ‘Oh it makes me look terrible with the environment'”.

“The kids. They have to care more about the environment than me, cause it’s their planet their inheriting”, the host continued.

Maher went on to joke that if Kylie Jenner gives up flying private, he will do the same. The host also criticised younger generations for idolising celebrities who ditch the commercial option, despite championing climate change activism.

Mike Tyson first explained why he continues to fly commercial flights, despite clearly having the cash to fly alone. The boxer told Maher he hates the feeling of isolation, and finds a need to be around others, even when flying.
