It’s been nearly a month since Saturday Night Live aired a new episode. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

Last we saw something new come out of Studio 8H, it was back on April 16. Lizzo joined the exclusive “double duty” club as both the host and the musical guest. But, the end of that episode was the start of another hiatus.

The good news is that the wait is finally, finally over. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness star Benedict Cumberbatch will host. Arcade Fire serves as the musical guest.

What to expect from Saturday Night Live tonight

With this kind of layoff, Saturday Night Live has a lot of catching up to do. It will be interesting to see how far back in the headlines SNL reaches, or if it chooses to treat tonight like any other week.

Of course, the biggest story of the week was the leaked Supreme Court draft suggesting Roe v. Wade would be overturned. It’s difficult to imagine just how SNL will address this story outside of “Weekend Update.” However, the subject matter certainly won’t scare off the show, as we’ve seen in the past.

It’s also been a long, long time since fans have seen Pete Davidson in a live sketch. After taking a few episodes off to film a movie, Davidson has only popped up in pretaped videos. With season 47 ending soon, now could be the time for the popular cast member to return to the studio.

Saturday Night Live airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The show also streams live on Peacock.
