Star Wars fans around the world celebrated May the 4th today. Late-night TV fans have a chance to get in on the action when Ewan McGregor, aka Obi-Wan Kenobi, stops by Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

McGregor first joined a galaxy far, far away in 1999’s The Phantom Menace, playing the younger version of Alec Guinness’ character. He became a fan favorite after The Clone Wars and The Revenge of the Sith, thanks in part to his acting talents and a few thousand memes.

Now, McGregor is set to return as the wise Jedi in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi premiering later this month. It will reunite McGregor with Hayden Christiansen, who returns as Darth Vader.

Disney released a new trailer for the show to celebrate May the 4th. The festivities continue when McGregor joins Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night.

Ewan McGregor won’t be interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel

Things will look a little different when Ewan McGregor stops by Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight. Host Jimmy Kimmel remains out after announcing he has COVID.

Instead, guest host Mike Birbiglia will continue to fill in. The comedian did a nice job in his first turn on Tuesday night by nailing the monologue and delivering an entertaining interview with Mike Myers.

We’ll see how he handles going one-on-one with one of the most iconic actors in the Star Wars franchise. Considering how well McGregor typically does on late-night TV shows, it should be an entertaining conversation.
