One user, wrote congratulating Noah on his speech: “Trevor Noah rocked it tonight. He never disappoints.” The tweet also payed due to the President for his ability to “roll with a joke”.

President Joe Biden was the topic of several of Noah’s jokes, including his recent low approval ratings and pulling troops out of Afghanistan. The President was noticeably tolerant of Noah’s comedic takes, often seeing laughing throughout.

Another praised the comedian for his closing remarks in which he reminded viewers and the attending audience of the importance of the press in a functioning democracy. Noah noted his only ability to joke and mock the President as a reminder of the crucial need for the First Amendment.

The tweet read: “Ok this was profound and credit where it’s due. Trevor Noah closed by challenging the press to ask themselves one very important question every single day.”

The Fox News network was a clear target of Noah’s remarks during the dinner, mocking it’s primetime coverage, Tucker Carlson and a string of controversies surrounding the channel, including it’s coverage of the Coronavirus pandemic. One user responded to the jokes, saying: “Laura Ingraham is here. What can be said about her that hasn’t already been said by the Anti-Defamation League?” Trevor Noah slayed Fox News and it was fantastic.”

Joe Biden was seen praising and thanking Noah for his appearance after the comedian’s remarks.
