Mattea Roach returned to the Jeopardy! spotlight on Monday. The returning champion put her 14-game winning streak on the line.
Roach, a tutor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has career winnings totaling $320,081 entering Monday’s game. That’s good enough to put her 10th in the show’s all-time winnings in regular play.
Trying to end the streak tonight were Michael Graff, a mascot from Eastvale, California, and Jessie Francis, a mental health therapist from Marietta, Georgia.
Who won Jeopardy! tonight?
Fans know that Mattea Roach starts fast. However, she faced stiff competition tonight. The “Jeopardy!” round concluded with Jessie Francis in the lead with $7,000, followed by Roach at $6,400. In third sat Michael Graff with $600.
Roach turned things around in the “Double Jeopardy!” round. She returned to her dominant ways, closing out the round in the lead with $27,200. Francis didn’t add enough to her score and ended with $10,200. Graff remained in third with $5,000.
“Final Jeopardy!” was another formality and a chance for Roach to pad her stats. She answered the clue correctly, winning her 15th game and bringing her winnings to $352,781.
