Joe Rogan v. Stephen Colbert: Podcaster calls Late Show host “weird”
Joe Rogan recently labelled Stephen Colbert as “weird” on a recent episode of his podcast.
Whilst sitting down with Matt Taibbi, Joe Rogan told all on his real opinion of CBS’s primetime late night host. “He’s weird right?”, Joe said in the recent episode. The host went on to take issue with a segment on Colbert’s late night show in which educational musical numbers were played in attempt to publicise in the importance and safety of vaccinations.
“The vaccine songs. That was strange,” Rogan told Taibbi. “I want to be in the meeting when they pitch that.” The podcaster continued, “Like where’s the joke? People are going to watch this?”
Rogan has been labelled as a popular thought leader in his scepticism of COVID vaccinations and government regulations during the pandemic.
“He gets a lot of money. I’m bet he enjoys being the star of a show.”
Just two years ago, Joe Rogan appeared far more of a fan of the Late show host, claiming to “like the guy” during a podcast episode in April 2019.
Colbert has been noticeably more hostile to Rogan’s recent coverage also. After news broke that Joe Rogan’s podcast, exclusive to Spotify, was feared to have been broadcasting COVID-19 misinformation, Colbert was quick to comment on his show. The Late Show produced a satirical video titled, ‘Jam Out To Spotify’s New Misinformation Playlist’, mocking Joe Rogan’s podcast.
We can’t tell if Rogan has payed close attention to Colbert’s coverage of his Spotify show, but if he has, it’s easy to see why the podcaster has had a change of heart.
