Mattea Roach has dominated Jeopardy! over the past week, winning six consecutive games. Did her streak continue tonight?

Roach, a tutor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has earned $148,000 so far. That sum is in large part due to her ability to get out to a fast start and put the game out of reach before the “Final Jeopardy!” category is even revealed.

Tonight, she faced off against Adam Wallick, an airline planning analyst from Chicago, Illinois, and Rachel Skytt, a bookseller from Burbank, California.

Who won Jeopardy! tonight?

All three contestants show off their knowledge during the “Jeopardy!” round. Mattea Roach answered 12 out of 13 questions correctly on her way to banking $7,200. Rachel Skytt was a perfect 8 for 8, finishing with $4,000. Finally, Adam Wallick answered all four of his questions right, earning $2,000.

In “Double Jeopardy!,” Roach went a perfect 11 for 11 and wound up with $20,400. Wallick hit on both “Daily Double” questions, giving himself a chance with $10,200. Meanwhile, Skytt doubled her score to $8,000.

“Final Jeopardy!” saw both Wallick and Skytt answer incorrectly. Roach answered correctly, having wagered just $1 to ensure a victory if Wallick had come up with the right response. In the end, she won her seventh consecutive game and brought her total winnings to $168,401.

What was tonight’s Final Jeopardy! question?

Any hopes of a tie went out the window when Roach answered correctly and Wallick couldn’t come up with the right response. Here’s the clue in the category “History”:

Intimately familiar with World War I, Churchill considered this war from some 150 years before the “first World War”

Wallick and Skytt both wrote down “What is the French and Indian War?” as their responses. Roach’s correct response and $1 wager ensured her the victory.
