Who won Jeopardy! tonight, April 4?
By Matt Moore
Jeopardy! started the week with a new champion taking on two new competitors. Here’s how things played out in tonight’s game.
Nell Klugman, a museum educator from Brooklyn, New York, entered the game with a one-day total of $24,401. She returned on Monday night after becoming the new Jeopardy! champion on Friday.
Waiting for her were Camron Conners, a high school social studies teacher from Rancho San Margarita, California, and Sarah Cahalan, a news assistant from Logansport, Indiana.
Who won Jeopardy! tonight?
Nell Klugman struggled a bit in the “Jeopardy!” round, answering incorrectly three out of seven times. Meanwhile, Sarah Calahan went a perfect eight-for-eight and Camron Conners answered 12 questions (and the “Daily Double”) correctly. After one round, Conners led with $8,200, followed by Calahan with $5,400, and Klugman with $2,200.
Unfortunately for Klugman, things didn’t get much better in the “Double Jeopardy!” round. She answered correctly on only 56% of the questions she buzzed in on. On the other hand, Conners built up a sizeable lead. After two sets of questions, Conners banked $24,600, Calahan had $9,000, and Klugman dropped to $1,200.
Conners was the only contestant to answer “Final Jeopardy!” incorrectly. But it didn’t matter and the teacher from California walked away as the new Jeopardy! champion.
