Fans have been patiently waiting for Saturday Night Live to return from a winter hiatus. Is tonight the night SNL finally returns?

Saturday Night Live last aired a new episode back on January 29 with host Willem Dafoe and musical guest Katy Perry. NBC then began airing primetime coverage of the Winter Olympics, putting SNL on hiatus.

So with the Winter Olympics now over, that means one thing: SNL is back. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Fan-favorite John Mulaney will host, securing his entrance into the Five Timers Club. He’ll be joined by musical guest LCD Soundsystem.

What to watch for tonight on Saturday Night Live

Saturday Night Live‘s cold opens continue to be a major draw, especially among casual fans. The show has a couple of options for tonight’s episode.

It will be hard for SNL to ignore what’s going on in Ukraine at the moment. Perhaps we’ll get another cold open led by James Austin Johnson as President Joe Biden addressing the nation.

Or, Johnson could appear as former President Donald Trump. Trump recently called in to Fox News with Laura Ingraham where he became confused over who exactly launched an assault in Ukraine. It could provide Johnson and SNL with the right material to open the show.

Mulaney’s return as host means there’s a good chance we’ll get another New York City-inspired musical. And joining the Five Timers Club also means that Mulaney could be greeted by special guests. Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Seth Meyers all jump out as possible cameos to support Mulaney.

Tonight will also mark the return of Cecily Strong. The SNL veteran missed a handful of episodes because of her performance in the off-Broadway one-woman play The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe. Strong’s appearance in the episode promo confirms she’s back in Studio 8H.

Saturday Night Live airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The show also streams live on Peacock.
