Saturday Night Live returned from its winter hiatus last week and tried to regain its footing in season 47. So what should fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

West Side Story star Ariana DeBose was tasked with ringing in 2022 on SNL and kick-starting the second half of the season. DeBose’s talents as a performer translated well to sketch comedy, and she held her own alongside Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson, and the rest of the cast.

SNL will look to keep things going strong this week. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Former cast member Will Forte returns to host for the first time. He’ll be joined by musical guest Måneskin, also making its SNL debut.

Forte returns to Studio 8H to promote his new Peacock series MacGruber, based on the character he made famous during his eight-year run on SNL.

What to watch for tonight on Saturday Night Live

SNL fans should expect Will Forte to bring some of his trademark humor back to the show. A new MacGruber sketch is pretty much a guarantee. The only question is if Forte’s Peacock costars Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe will make a surprise appearance.

In last week’s cold open, Pete Davidson acknowledged the elephant in the room with a joke about his personal life. Given how the story has developed in the tabloids, Davidson could choose to make it a running joke.

Audiences likely noticed that Cecily Strong was absent last week. Don’t expect that to change tonight. The veteran cast member is currently performing in the one-woman play The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe through next month.

Saturday Night Live airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC. The show also streams live on Peacock.
