Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, December 11?

With the holiday season in full swing, it can be easy to lose track of the time or the day. But it is Saturday, and that means it’s time for Saturday Night Live. But will fans get a brand new episode?

SNL season 47 has been on hiatus since November 20. When we last saw the show, Simu Liu became the latest Marvel superhero to host the show and Saweetie made her debut on the show.

Now, the time has finally come for SNL’s return to Studio 8H. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Billie Eilish pulls double duty as both the host and musical guest for tonight’s episode. It comes just two years after she served as the musical guest when Woody Harrelson hosted the season 45 premiere back in 2019.

Is tonight Saturday Night Live’s Christmas episode?

Saturday Night Live usually saves some of its best work for the holidays. Whether that is St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, Hannukah, or Halloween, SNL has come up with some iconic sketches around the holidays.

Christmas is certainly no exception and perhaps when SNL is at its holiday peak. So, considering it’s December, some fans may wonder if Billie Eilish will captain this year’s Christmas episode.

While there may be a holiday-themed sketch or two, tonight won’t be the show’s official Christmas episode. That will come next week, December 18, when Paul Rudd returns to Studio 8H to host.

After that, expect SNL to go on another holiday break before returning in 2022. Hosts beyond Rudd have yet to be announced, but that could change during tonight’s episode. Stay tuned.
