President Joe Biden stops by late-night TV on Friday. POTUS will be the top guest on a brand new episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Typically, presidents are punchline targets on late-night TV. But occasionally, they’ll sit down for an interview while in office. However, that trend hit a bump in the road when former President Donald Trump took over the White House.

But Friday night marks a return for presidents to late-night TV. President Biden has plenty to discuss, and The Tonight Show offers him a more relaxed environment to share his message.

Fans tuning in can expect President Biden to promote vaccinations and booster shots in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. He’ll likely also want to pump up his Build Back Better plan and other items off his agenda.

It won’t be Joe Biden’s first time on The Tonight Show. Five years ago, he sat down with Jimmy Fallon and shared his thoughts on several topics, including the debates between Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Previously, Fallon took it upon himself to get President Biden on the show. The late-night host has portrayed the president in several Tonight Show sketches.

Jimmy Fallon will look to make the most of his interview with President Joe Biden

Of course, no discussion of Jimmy Fallon with a president would be complete without mention of his infamous interview with Donald Trump. While Trump was only a candidate at the time, the hair tussling seen around the world took on a life of its own.

Fallon surely learned his lesson from the incident, so don’t expect any gaffes or “scandals” to come from his interview with President Joe Biden on Friday. What fans should expect is for Fallon and President Biden to team up on something designed to go viral or portray the president in a different light. What that will be remains to be seen, but The Tonight Show typically makes the most of these kinds of opportunities.
