Saturday Night Live returns tonight with another brand new episode. It will also feature another first-time host.
SNL season 47 has featured a first-time host in each of its five episodes. Owen Wilson, Kim Kardashian West, Rami Malek, Jason Sudeikis, and Kieran Culkin have all come to Studio 8H and held their own with the cast.
Now, it’s time for another SNL debut. Actor Jonathan Majors hosts tonight’s brand new episode of Saturday Night Live. He’ll be joined by musical guest Taylor Swift.
Majors and Swift both appear excited to get the show going tonight. Check out the promo alongside cast members Bowen Yang and Aidy Bryant:
Jonathan Majors adds Saturday Night Live to his impressive resume
Hosting Saturday Night Live is another highlight in Jonathan Majors’ already impressive career. The 32-year-old actor earned the spotlight thanks to some standout performances over the past few years.
Roles in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Lovecraft Country, and Loki demonstrate Majors’ talents as a performer. The actor should become even more of a household name when he debuts as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023.
On SNL, he’ll promote his role in The Harder They Fall, the Netflix Western that features an all-star cast. Majors is joined by Idris Elba, Regina King, Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz.
While Majors doesn’t have any straightforward comedies on his resume, he shouldn’t have any trouble keeping up on SNL. His role as He Who Remains in Loki showed off his timing and offered a glimpse at the actor’s abilities.
And don’t count out an assist from Taylor Swift. The singer has hosted in the past, so she’s familiar with everything that goes on backstage at the show. A Swift appearance in a sketch or two is a very real possibility.
