It’s Saturday night. It’s the fall. Does that mean it’s time for a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live?

Fans last saw Saturday Night Live on May 22. The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy closed out season 46 with help from musical guest Lil Nas X.

Unfortunately, the wait will go on just a little bit longer. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

The new season is set to premiere on Oct. 2. This lines up with past season premiere dates as the SNL season typically doesn’t start until the calendar turns over to October.

Who’s hosting the Saturday Night Live season premiere?

The next question after “is Saturday Night Live new tonight?” is “who’s hosting?”. So while we have to wait to see the cast back in Studio 8H, we already know who will be front and center that night.

Loki star Owen Wilson has been tapped to host. He’ll be joined by musical guest Kacey Musgraves. While Musgraves already has an SNL appearance under her belt, it will be Wilson’s first time on the show as a host.

In addition to his Disney+ series, Wilson will also be on to promote his role in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. The movie hits theaters on Oct. 22.

There is a way fans can get their Saturday Night Live x Owen Wilson fix before the season 47 premiere. Check out the two sketches below featuring a Wilson cameo and a Wilson impression:
