Is Real Time with Bill Maher new tonight, September 10?
By Matt Moore
Real Time with Bill Maher hasn’t been seen since August 27. Should late-night TV fans expect a new episode tonight or another week off for Bill Maher?
It wasn’t a surprise that Maher took time off around the Labor Day holiday. In fact, this summer has been defined by late-night hosts taking extended breaks. Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Trevor Noah, and others have been absent quite a bit over the past few months.
But it’s back to work for Maher on Friday. There will be a brand new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.
Expect Maher to waste no time in catching up on what he missed during his brief hiatus. President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates, former President Donald Trump’s comments about Robert E. Lee, and the 20th anniversary of 9/11 are all possible monologue topics.
Who’s on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight?
First up, Bill Maher will interview Representative Barbara Lee. The Democrat represents California’s 13th district.
President Biden recently appointed Rep. Lee to another term as a Congressional Representative to the U.N. Recently, Lee has been focused on the fallout from the Texas abortion bill, citizenship for immigrants, and the pandemic response.
Tonight’s panel features two guests. Both should be familiar to longtime viewers of Real Time with Bill Maher.
Christina Bellantoni directs the media center at USC Annenberg’s School for Communication and Journalism. She recently reported on how COVID vaccines impact nursing mothers.
George Will is a columnist with the Washington Post. His latest book is American Happiness and Discontents: The Unruly Torrent, 2008-2020. The conservative’s book explores how “expertise, reason, and manners are continually under attack in our institutions, courts, political arenas, and social venues.”
Real Time with Bill Maher airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO. You can also watch it on HBO Max.
