August 19 was the last time fans saw a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Will that streak continue tonight or finally come to an end?

Fans have become increasingly restless while waiting for The Late Show to return. Some have even gone so far as to question Stephen Colbert’s dedication to the gig. But it’s hard to imagine the comedian is already bored of his gig. It’s much more likely that there is a reasonable, and expected, explanation for so many absences this summer.

However, don’t expect to get that explanation tonight. There will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight. The show will observe the Labor Day holiday and enjoy (another) day off.

Instead, CBS will reair that August 19 episode. Fans get another chance to see guests Sean Penn, Dylan Penn, and Crowded House.

What to watch instead of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans have become used to looking for other late-night TV options this summer. Unfortunately, that won’t do them much good on Monday night.

As expected, everyone will be observing the holiday on Monday. That means in addition to The Late Show, repeats will air for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!Late Night with Seth Meyers, and every other show.

So what are the options? Watch the CBS repeat for a reminder of where Colbert left things. Or, check out The Late Show‘s official YouTube channel to check out any interviews or monologues you missed. Finally, Paramount+ subscribers can access Late Show content anytime.
