Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, September 1?
By Matt Moore
New month, new The Late Show? That’s certainly what Stephen Colbert fans are hoping for on Wednesday night.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert hasn’t been seen in some time. While it does no good to speculate, fans are curious about the extended hiatus for Colbert and company. The pandemic, summer vacations, and more could all be playing a role.
Just don’t expect the show to pick up with new episodes midweek. There will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Instead, CBS will reair the August 16 episode. Audiences will have another chance to see guests Dr. Jon LaPook and Fumi Abe.
What to watch instead of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight
Some disgruntled fans have threatened to abandon The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in favor of another late-night TV option. However, there aren’t many of those worth watching on Wednesday night.
Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night with Seth Meyers all air repeat episodes tonight.
Fans can still tune to CBS for new late-night content. The Late Late Show with James Corden plans to deliver a brand new episode. The guest lineup features Clive Owen and James Arthur. The fun kicks off at 12:35 a.m. EST.
If you’re staying loyal to Stephen Colbert, you also have options. The Late Show‘s official YouTube channel has tons of content. You can also find some laughs on Paramount+.
