It has been an entertaining few weeks on Saturday Night Live. What should fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

Two weeks ago, SNL faced backlash for its decision to welcome Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk as host. That episode was followed up by an excellent performance from Keegan-Michael Key in his SNL debut.

It will be important for SNL to build on that momentum tonight. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live. It’s also the season 46 finale.

The finale should be in good hands, too. Actress Anya Taylor-Joy will serve as host with support from Lil Nas X as the musical guest. Our episode preview looks at how both Joy and Lil Nas X could surprise viewers tonight.

An SNL season finale typically includes surprise cameos, callbacks, and some of the more out-of-the-box sketches. It won’t be as easy to pull off some of those stunts tonight as the pandemic continues to influence what the show can and cannot do.

Tonight’s episode also brings the possibility of being the final one for some cast members. Rumors have suggested some big names and fan-favorites could be leaving SNL but nothing has been confirmed. We should get some indication or announcement if any repertory players are walking away.

How to watch Saturday Night Live

It has been an entertaining ride all season on Saturday Night Live. The premiere hosted by Chris Rock, the Jim Carey cameos as Joe Biden, and the election coverage seems like it all happened years ago. And despite the pandemic, SNL has continued to produce all season long. Here’s hoping the season goes out with a bang.
