Who’s hosting Saturday Night Live tonight, April 17?
By Matt Moore
Saturday Night Live is coming off back-to-back weeks featuring a first-time host. So what should fans expect to see tonight on NBC?
SNL called on two of Hollywood’s biggest talents to lead the past two episodes. Academy Award nominees Daniel Kaluuya and Carey Mulligan, both known for their dramatic work, showed audiences a different side of themselves on Saturday Night Live.
Unfortunately, nobody will get to showcase their comedy chops this week. There will not be a new episode of Satuday Night Live tonight.
Instead, NBC will reair the April 4, 1998 episode at 10:00 p.m. ET with host Steve Buscemi and musical guest Third Eye Blind. Then at 11:30, it will rerun this season’s episode hosted by Regina King with Nathaniel Rateliff as musical guest.
Who has been Saturday Night Live’s best host this season?
So far in season 46, Saturday Night Live has featured 17 different hosts. Some have been obvious choices while others have definitely been a bit more out of the box.
Returning hosts like Chris Rock, John Mulaney, Dave Chappelle, Kristen Wiig, and Maya Rudolph looked right at home in Studio 8H. Chappelle’s episode from Nov. 7 remains the highest-rated episode of the season.
First-time hosts Issa Rae, Adele, Dan Levy, Bill Burr, Regé-Jean Page, and Nick Jonas all did their best to fit in. While not everyone is likely to get an invitation back to the show, SNL probably hasn’t regretted any of its host selections.
