Former President Donald Trump has called for a boycott of Major League Baseball following MLB’s decision to pull the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta. As Jimmy Kimmel explained, it is the latest in a long list of companies and organizations Trump wants to cancel.

MLB’s decision stems from new voting laws in Georgia. Critics of the controversial measures argue it will be harder to vote and that the law gives the Republican-led state government too much power over elections in Democratic counties. The law also makes it a misdemeanor to hand out water to voters waiting in line.

Other companies have spoken out against the voting laws in Georgia. Coca-Cola and Delta are among those who have condemned the changes. Those on the other side have argued this is the latest example of “cancel culture” and “woke” mobs attacking conservatives and Republicans.

Donald Trump is among those criticizing the MLB. In a statement, the former president called for a boycott of the league in response to pulling the All-Star game from Atlanta. Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t help but point out the hypocrisy of Trump jumping into cancel culture once again.

Jimmy Kimmel calls out Donald Trump’s hypocrisy over cancel culture and boycotts

Jimmy Kimmel has never taken Donald Trump seriously and now that Trump is out of office, the late night host has even less reason to do so. But if he needed more justification, Kimmel got it when Trump suggested that Coca-Cola should face a boycott. Kimmel reminds us that Trump had a special button in the Oval Office to deliver him a Diet Coke.

But that kind of hypocrisy is par for the course when it comes to Donald Trump. Jimmy Kimmel argues that Trump has tried to cancel more things than anyone. The list includes:

  • MLB
  • Coca-Cola
  • Delta
  • CBS
  • UPS
  • Apple
  • Rolling Stone
  • Fox News
  • NFL

Speaking directly to Trump supporters, Kimmel lays out the rules set by the former president. You can’t watch baseball, football, or NASCAR but you can watch Trump drink Diet Coke and play golf. If the MAGA crowd wants to follow Trump’s rules, they are more than welcome to–just don’t expect Jimmy Kimmel to start taking Trump seriously.
