Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, April 5?
By Matt Moore
Fans had to go the entirety of last week without a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. What should they expect to see tonight on CBS?
Viewers are so used to tuning into The Late Show at the end of the day or looking for Stephen Colbert clips the next morning that it can be jarring when nothing new shows up. It’s especially tough when the week features headlines like those about Rep. Matt Gaetz or former President Donald Trump’s new website.
Thankfully, things will look a little bit more normal on Monday. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Expect Colbert to use part of his monologue to catch up on stories he missed over the past week. We’re pretty much guaranteed a punchline or two at Gaetz’s expense.
Who’s on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight?
First up, Stephen Colbert will talk with actor John Cena. The former WWE superstar has made quite a career for himself outside of the ring and always has at least a couple of projects to discuss.
On The Late Show, that could be his role as co-host of the obstacle course game show Wipeout that just relaunched on TBS, his role in the upcoming DC Comics movie The Suicide Squad, or the spinoff series The Peacemaker coming to HBO Max.
Then, Colbert will interview Senator Tammy Duckworth. The Democrat has been representing Illinois in the Senate since 2017.
There is certainly a lot for Sen. Duckworth to discuss with Colbert. The rise in hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community and her new memoir Every Day is a Gift.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS. Stream it on FuboTV by signing up for a free seven-day trial.
