Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, March 20?

It’s been a while since fans have been treated to a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live. Is tonight the night that changes?
To be exact, the last new episode of SNL was back on Feb. 27. Nick Jonas served as both host and musical guest in what was another solid episode for season 46. At the time, it was the fifth consecutive new episode dating back to Jan. 30.
Unfortunately, another streak of new show will not start tonight. There is not a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.
Instead, NBC will reair the season 32 episode from March 17, 2007, featuring host Julia Louis-Dreyfus and musical guest Snow Patrol at 10:00 p.m. EST. Then at 11:30, it will be a repeat of this season’s episode hosted by Dan Levy with musical guest Phoebe Bridgers.
Saturday Night Live returns on March 27. Former cast member Maya Rudolph will host while Jack Harlow will serve as the musical guest.

Season 46 has provided a good mix of returning hosts like Dave Chappelle and Jason Bateman as well as first-timers like Regina King and Issa Rae. And no season would be complete with some SNL alumni returning to host.
The season started with Chris Rock hosting the premiere. It was his third time back on the stage that helped make him a star in the early ’90s. Kristen Wiig then hosted the Christmas episode on Dec. 19.
Rudolph has hosted once before, back in 2012, but has made several cameos on SNL since she left as a cast member in 2007. Rudolph has appeared in seven of the 15 episodes this season, playing Vice President Kamala Harris.
Maya Rudolph should come into the week with an advantage no other host has had this season. Not only does Rudolph know what to expect on SNL because of her history as a performer and host, but she also knows about the pandemic safety protocols in place this season. We’ll find out soon enough!
