The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was noticeably absent last week. So what should fans expect to see tonight on CBS?

There were a lot of unhappy late night television fans last week as The Late Show was off the air. The fallout from former President Donald Trump’s acquittal and Senator Ted Cruz’s Mexico scandal were just the type of stories that Stephen Colbert sinks his teeth into with his monologues.

However, the timing just wasn’t right as Colbert and company enjoyed a well-deserved week off. The good news is that there is always a new story breaking that is sure to get Colbert’s attention.

And the good news doesn’t stop there. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.

Expect Colbert and the Late Show writers to make up for lost time. Sen. Cruz may think he heard the worst of it from late night but the story is too big for Colbert to leave in the past. Anticipate tonight’s monologue revisiting the story as well as some others it missed before things move on to the guests.

Who’s on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight?

There is only one interview on the schedule tonight and it’s a big one. Stephen Colbert will chat with Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

The businessman and philanthropist has turned more of his attention to climate change and the environment. He recently made headlines by suggesting that wealthy nations should switch to eating 100% synthetic beef. Gates has also weighed in on the pandemic and the winter weather crisis in Texas. Expect those topics and more to be on the table when he joins The Late Show.

Tonight’s musical guest is Tune-Yards. The band is set to release the album Sketchy on March 26. Its latest single is “Hold Yourself.”
