A lot has happened since The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was last on the air. Should fans expect to hear Stephen Colbert catch up on the news tonight?

The Late Show last aired a new episode on Thursday, Feb. 11. That means it missed the Senate acquitting former President Donald Trump of charges he incited an insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6. While the outcome was predictable, audiences have been curious to hear Colbert’s reaction.

In covering the story, Colbert’s emotions have ranged from amused to angry to depressed. Knowing that President Trump was let off the hook surely brought all those emotions and more out of the late night comedian.

But it will be a while before fans hear it directly from him. There will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.

Instead, CBS will reair the special live episode that aired on Jan. 6. Fans can revisit Colbert’s immediate reaction to the Capitol riot as well as rewatch his interviews with Senator Amy Klobuchar and Representative Adam Kinzinger.
