It has been a season of firsts for Saturday Night Live as year 46 of the show presents some unique challenges. It’s also been a big year for first time hosts and that trend will continue with tonight’s brand new episode.

So far, season 46 of Saturday Night Live has featured the debuts of Bill Burr, Issa Rae, Adele, Timothee Chalamet, John Krasinski, and Dan Levy. Each has brought something very different to the show but it easy to see each of them being invited back in the future.

Tonight, Regina King will get her chance. The Watchmen star and One Night in Miami director hosts tonight’s brand new episode.

You can read Last Night On’s preview of the episode right here. We take a look at King’s comedy resume as well as why SNL’s political impressions seem to have slowed down.

While King has a few comedy roles on her resume, it’s not the first thing people think of when it comes to the Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe-winning actress. But as those awards make clear, King is one of the best performers in the world so she should be more than up to the challenge tonight on Saturday Night Live.
