Who’s the musical guest on Saturday Night Live tonight, January 30?

The hiatus is over and Saturday Night Live is back tonight with a brand new episode. Who will be joining host John Krasinski as the musical guest?
What fans love about SNL’s musical guests is how eclectic the mix is during a season. It doesn’t matter the genre or how long an artist has been around. If they are creative, talented, and can excite an audience, there is a good chance they’ll end up on SNL.
SNL season 46 has certainly proven this point. Through nine episodes, we’ve seen icons like Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, and Jack White. We’ve also seen the future of music with guests like Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., and Dua Lipa.
Tonight will feature another young artist making his SNL debut. The musical guest will be rapper Machine Gun Kelly.
On second thought, “rapper” may not be entirely accurate. MGK’s newest release is the pop-punk album Tickets to My Downfall. So expect guitars and catchy hooks during his two performances.
Saturday Night Live may put Machine Gun Kelly in a sketch
It is not uncommon for Saturday Night Live‘s musical guest to appear in a sketch. We’ve already seen it in season 46 with Megan Thee Stallion, Justin Bieber, and Dua Lipa all acting as well as performing.
Machine Gun Kelly will probably add his name to that list. He has acting experience, appearing in a handful of movies and television series.
It also helps that he’s good friends with SNL cast member Pete Davidson. MGK had a role in Davidson’s movie The King of Staten Island and Davidson played the musician in a sketch earlier this season.
Don’t be surprised to see them team up for a sketch or in a pre-recorded digital short. Davidson has been on fire this season with his music videos so it seems like a no-brainer to do another one with his friend.
How to watch Saturday Night Live tonight
Machine Gun Kelly fans have embraced his pop-punk sound. With things the way they are, chances for live music performances are limited. That will make this set on Saturday Night Live even more special. Here are the details you need to know to make sure you don’t miss it:
