Is tonight a case of new week, new Late Show? What should fans of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert expect to see on CBS?

Last week was an abbreviated one for Stephen Colbert. He took Friday night off after going live on Jan. 20 in honor of President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

But it will be back to work tonight to kick off another week of brand new shows. There will be a new episode of The Late Show.

Like the rest of late night TV, Colbert will be changing gears a bit this week with less emphasis on politics and more on the entertainment industry. Keep reading for a preview of tonight’s lineup.

Who’s on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight?

The Late Show has just one guest on the schedule tonight but it’s a good one. Tennis superstar Serena Williams joins the show.

Williams is currently in Australia where she is quarantining with her family before she competes in next month’s Australian Open. A victory would make her the first tennis player to win Grand Slam singles title in four different decades. It would also tie Williams with Margaret Court for the most Grand Slam titles.

In addition to talking about her preparations and life in quarantine with her husband and daughter, Williams has a lot to talk about. Off the court, she is launching a line of luggage with Away Luggage. It’s one of several businesses and projects Williams has going on outside of tennis so expect it to all be on the table when she talks with Colbert.

Tonight’s musical guest is Dayglow. The single “Close to You” just got a music video release so expect to hear a live performance of the song tonight.
