Is The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon new tonight, January 15?
By Matt Moore
What should The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon fans expect to see tonight on NBC?
With everything going on in the world right now, finding time to unplug and relax on the weekend is as important as ever. Could a brand new episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon help get things off on the right foot?
The Tonight Show has fallen behind The Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the ratings over the past few weeks. Audiences are looking to Jimmy Fallon’s competitors after digesting the day’s news in the hopes that some political humor will make things easier to bear.
But that could just be it: fans are looking for something very specific right now and it is not what Jimmy Fallon does best. We’ve seen this week that Fallon is capable of delivering thoughtful commentary and some solid political punchlines. Yet the strength of The Tonight Show has always depended on a live audience and celebrity guests in the studio.
Hopefully, it won’t be too long before things are back to normal and Fallon has everything he needs to entertain a wide audience. In the meantime, The Tonight Show is making the most of its circumstances. That should be the case tonight with an all-new episode.
Who’s on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight?
The guest lineup will certainly help Jimmy Fallon have a good show. The first visitor is someone who is a Tonight Show favorite.
Actress Nicole Kidman leads things off. Fans will remember the now legendary chat Fallon and Kidman had a few years ago when the Tonight Show host realized he blew his chance at dating the actress.
Kidman has had a busy year and should discuss some of those projects with Fallon. She was in the Netflix movie The Prom and the HBO miniseries The Undoing. Next, she’ll star in the Hulu miniseries Nine Perfect Strangers coming later this year.
Then, actor Cole Sprouse joins the show. He stars in the CW series Riverdale which is set to start season five on Jan. 20. Sprouse should give fans an idea of what to expect this season.
Tonight’s musical guest is Henry Hall. He released his debut full-length album Neato in Oct. 2020.
