What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has spent the past few weeks enjoying a well-deserved holiday break. But what should fans expect to see tonight?

Last we heard from Stephen Colbert, he was saying goodbye to 2020. That was two weeks ago and the year didn’t exactly go quietly into the night. There is plenty to catch up on and fans are eager to hear Colbert’s take on how 2020 ended and how 2021 has started.

They’ll get that chance tonight. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is brand new tonight as it returns from hiatus.

Who’s on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight?

Colbert won’t waste any time jumping into the biggest political stories when The Late Show returns tonight. Expect a monologue dedicated to President Donald Trump’s controversial call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

The spotlight will stay on Georgia when Colbert welcomes politician and activist Stacy Abrams as his first guest. Abrams played a major role in turning Georgia blue during the presidential election and she’s been working on doing the same for the Senate runoff elections scheduled for Jan. 5.

Then, RuPaul joins The Late Show. Season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered on Jan. 1 so the host should give Colbert and viewers an idea of what to expect moving forward.

Tonight’s musical guest is Maren Morris. Her album Girl was released in 2019 and has remained extremely popular thanks to singles like “The Bones” and “To Hell and Back.”
