Jimmy Kimmel’s best superhero moments: Batman vs. Superman deleted scene
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice didn’t land with audiences in the way DC and Warner Bros. hoped it would. The film was criticized for being too dark and for some, it lacked the humor that makes Marvel films so popular.
So maybe the movie could have done a little bit better if it had kept Jimmy Kimmel’s scene in the final cut? Or with so many characters set to appear in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, maybe Kimmel will finally make his DCEU debut.
If anything, this fictional scene from Kimmel shows that Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck are more than capable of adding some levity into their versions of Superman and Batman. These superhero films can often benefit from actors who don’t take themselves too seriously while also remaining respectful of the characters.
The entire sketch was quite the production. In addition to Cavill and Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg reprises his role as Lex Luthor and Will Arnett shows up to boast about his Lego Batman credentials.
And no popular sketch from Jimmy Kimmel Live! would be complete without a Matt Damon reference. Pushing Superman too far doesn’t end well for Kimmel as he lands on Mars with Damon in a nod to The Martian.
