More mean comments from fans are at the center of the next superhero moment on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. This time it’s Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot feeling the heat.
Gadot had her breakout role in 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice playing Wonder Woman on the big screen for the first time in history. Her portrayal was one of the few bright spots in the DCEU movie and preceded her massively successful solo outing a few months later.
While promoting BvS, Gadot sat down with Jimmy Kimmel to discuss her casting. Kimmel admitted that comic book fans take these things very seriously but Gadot was already well aware. When she assumed Kimmel was referring to criticism of Gadot’s body, things got a little uncomfortable between the two.
Both Gadot and Kimmel recovered well and the audience found the entire exchange entertaining. Kimmel would go on to reassure Gadot that her performance as Wonder Woman would be more than enough to win over skeptical fans and those focused on the wrong things. With Wonder Woman 1984 releasing soon, it’s safe to say that Gadot was the right choice for the role.
