What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?

Congratulations on making it to the end of the week! It’s Friday and for late night TV fans, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the best way to start the weekend.

It has been something of a celebration on The Late Show the past week. Stephen Colbert continues to take joy in “The Road From the White House,” his coverage of President Donald Trump’s final days in office.

According to the late night host, President Trump is at least privately coming to grips with reality. Earlier this week, Colbert suggested that a reported “wave of pardons” from the current president indicated that Team Trump knows time is up.

So will it be more of the same tonight? Or is Colbert taking a night off?

It is being billed as a new episode but tonight’s Late Show will not be new. Titled “Stephen Colbert’s Return to New Zealand: A Magical Land Where Hugs Still Happen,” it will revisit Colbert’s trip to New Zealand from 2019.

Fans will recall that Colbert visited the set of The Hobbit, drove around with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and more during his travel special. Tonight’s episode takes a look back at the trip while also crediting New Zealand for its work containing the novel coronavirus.
