Here are five guests coming to late night TV this week that fans won’t want to miss

With the first week of December in the books, we’ve officially moved into the holiday season. Expect late night TV to reflect that this week with most shows returning with new episodes featuring some fan-favorite guests.

After taking last week off, both Late Night with Seth Meyers and Conan return this week with new shows. The big three of The Late Show with Stephen ColbertThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will also have new content for fans.

There are a number of new shows and movies coming out this month, some with a holiday theme. The stars behind those projects will be all over late night TV in the coming weeks and it all starts tonight.

Here are Last Night On’s picks for five late night TV guests fans won’t want to miss this week. Be sure to let us know who you’ll be tuning in to see.

Late night TV guest to watch: Matthew McConaughey

Kick things off with a guest who found himself trending on Twitter today. Actor Matthew McConaughey will be on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday, Dec. 7.

McConaughey has received a lot of attention for his comments on “The Joe Rogan Podcast” criticizing the “far left.” In typical Twitter fashion, many people jumped on the actor and leveled both warranted criticisms as well as speculation on what McConaughey’s entire worldview must be.

It will be interesting to see if Corden addresses this on tonight’s show. The actor will be on to discuss his memoir Greenlights that was released on Oct. 20.

Late night TV guest to watch: Miley Cyrus

You can also start your week by watching Miley Cyrus return to late night TV. She’ll be the lead guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, Dec. 7.

Whether it is on KimmelThe Tonight ShowSaturday Night Live, or elsewhere, Cyrus typically has a must-see appearance. It doesn’t matter if it is a sitdown interview or musical performance–Cyrus almost always delivers.

It is that kind of energy that will make for a perfect start to late night’s week. Cyrus released her album Plastic Hearts last month, receiving positive reviews and boosted thanks to singles like “Midnight Sky” and “Prisoner.”

Late night TV guest to watch: Chloe Fineman

One of Saturday Night Live‘s rising star gets a turn in the late night spotlight this week. Watch cast member Chloe Fineman on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Fineman has carved out a role for herself at SNL thanks to celebrity impressions including Brittany Spears, Drew Barrymore, and Nicole Kidman. Her best may be Timothee Chalamat, who happens to be this week’s host at SNL.

Fineman was a bright spot this past weekend when SNL returned after an extended hiatus. Expect Jimmy Fallon to ask Fineman about her Chalamet impression and if fans can expect anything special on Saturday. The SNL connection between Fineman and Fallon should make the interview that much more entertaining.

Fineman is also the perfect guest for the Tonight Show “Wheel of Impressions” game. The comedian could have a few celebrities that we haven’t seen on SNL yet if she indeed plays the game on Tuesday.

Late night TV guest to watch: Aubrey Plaza

Aubrey Plaza may combine the best qualities of the previous two guests on this list. See the always entertaining and hilarious actress on Late Night with Seth Meyers Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Plaza will be the first to admit that she has made some awkward talk show appearances over the years. But whether intentional or organic, these interactions are part of the reason she makes for such a fantastic guest and one that fans routinely go out of the way to watch.

Fans are in for more of the same when she checks in to Late Night with Seth Meyers. She’ll discuss her film Happiest Season which was released on Hulu on Nov. 25.

Late night TV guest to watch: Joe Manganiello

Close out your late night TV week with Conan. Actor Joe Manganiello will chat with Conan O’Brien on Thursday, Dec. 10.

With O’Brien announcing that his late night show will come to an end in 2021, every episode until then becomes more precious to fans. And while the final countdown is still months away, it’s a good idea to get as many Conan viewings in as possible.

Manganiello has proven to be a quality late night guest over the years. He typically has an entertaining story from his personal life or from the set of his latest project. On Conan, he’ll discuss his movie Archenemy, a superhero mystery film set to be released on Dec. 11. It’s also possible that O’Brien could ask Manganiello about his role as Deathstroke in Zack Snyder’s Justice League coming to HBO Max soon.
