Late night TV: Five guests to watch this week – November 30, 2020
By Matt Moore
Here are five guests coming to late night TV this week that fans won’t want to miss
It’s time to say goodbye to November and hello to December. It’s also time to say hello to a brand new week of late night TV as many fan-favorite shows return to the air with help from some excellent guests.
Of course, late night TV continues to give President Donald Trump’s post-election legal battles coverage. It’s hard to ignore when Rudy Giuliani is doing the things he’s done over the past few weeks. But it’s also evident that hosts are ready to move on from the Trump era.
Most of the guests this week should help achieve that goal. There are a number of movies coming to streaming services and television shows airing premieres and finales. That means that the stars of those projects will be out promoting their work on late night TV.
Here are Last Night On’s picks for the five guests fans should check out this week. Be sure to let us know who you’ll be watching.
Late night TV guest to watch: President Barack Obama
Former President Barack Obama makes it three weeks in a row landing on this list. He returns to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for part two of his interview on Monday, Nov. 30.
Two weeks ago, President Obama was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his memoir A Promised Land. He followed that up last week by talking with Stephen Colbert about his family, his frustrations with the current administration, and why he didn’t do so hot in wastepaper basketball.
It was one of The Late Show‘s most popular interviews and part two should be no different. Expect Colbert to get a bit more into President Obama’s legacy and what he did in office before looking forward to what’s next.
Late night TV guest to watch: John Mulaney
Late night TV’s newest employee is also a guest this week. See comedian John Mulaney on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
It was recently announced that Mulaney had joined the writing staff at Late Night with Seth Meyers. Mulaney has already made a couple of on-camera appearances demonstrating his chemistry with Seth Meyers.
The comedian will be promoting season four of Big Mouth, set to debut on Netflix on Dec. 4. Mulaney has proven time and time again that he is one of the most entertaining and hilarious guests in late night TV. Expect more of the same on Tuesday.
Late night TV guest to watch: Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter
It’s a two-for-one deal on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Actors Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will both be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The duo reprised their roles as Bill Preston and Ted Logan earlier this year in Bill & Ted Face the Music. Don’t be surprised if the actors slip into the roles again for a bit with Jimmy Fallon.
Both actors also have new projects to promote. Winter directed the documentary Zappa about musician Frank Zappa. It was released on Nov. 23. Reeves is featured in Cyberpunk 2077, an action role-playing video game that is set to finally be released on Dec. 10.
Late night TV guest to watch: Bryan Cranston
One of the best actors around comes to late night TV this week. Check out Bryan Cranston on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday, Dec. 3.
Thanks to roles in Seinfeld, Malcolm in the Middle, and Breaking Bad, Cranston is one of the most well-liked performers in all of entertainment. And anyone who has seen him on late night TV knows he’s also one of the best storytellers.
Cranston’s next project is the Showtime miniseries Your Honor. He plays a judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run, setting off a series of events “that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices.”
Late night TV guest to watch: Zendaya
Finish off your late night TV week with another popular and talented performer. Zendaya will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, Dec. 3.
Zendaya may have more projects to talk about than anyone else you see this week. First, there are two special episodes of her HBO series Euphoria with the first set to air on Dec. 6. Then she stars with John David Washington in the Netflix film Malcolm & Marie streaming on Feb. 5.
Expect Jimmy Kimmel to also ask her about her upcoming roles in Dune and the sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home. It’s hard to think of someone else who has such a wide-ranging resume right now, making Zendaya all the more interesting as a late night TV guest.
Who are you most excited to see this week? You can check out the complete lineup of guests right here. Be sure to check back with Last Night On for all the highlights.
