Rudy Giuliani’s hair dye malfunction was the main topic of discussion last night on late night TV

The hits keep coming for Rudy Giuliani. The former New York City and President Donald Trump’s personal attorney had another gaffe yesterday as his leaking hair dye overshadowed what was meant to be a bombshell press conference. As expected, late night TV had a lot to say.

Giuliani and other members of President Trump’s legal team gathered (in the right location this time) to discuss their allegations of voter fraud and ballot mismanagement across several states. According to the “elite strikeforce” assembled to defend President Trump, it is only a matter of time before the election is overturned and President-elect Joe Biden is the one who concedes.

But when hair dye and/or makeup starting running from Giuliani’s hair and down the side of his sweaty face, it was the only thing anyone could talk about. The moment instantly went viral and by Thursday night, nearly every late night TV monologue had a joke ready to go.

Here is a rundown of how late night hosts mocked Rudy Giuliani and his hair dye malfunction. Let us know who you think had the best punchlines.

Stephen Colbert on Rudy Giuliani’s spectacular failure

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert got things going on Thursday night. Stephen Colbert’s monologue suggested that Rudy Giuliani may have drank so much that he was “sweating merlot.” Colbert then wondered aloud if it was a good sign when your lawyer starts to melt.

It was a rapid fire succession of jokes from Colbert. Other highlights include joking that it wasn’t hair dye but that Giuliani’s “hair died” and that Giuliani got his hair styled at Jiffy Lube.

This comes just a few days after another Late Show monologue was dedicated to Giuliani. Colbert made it clear he wasn’t worried about President Trump’s lawsuits if the former New York City mayor was in charge. Thursday’s meltdown did nothing to change Colbert’s opinion.

Jimmy Kimmel especially enjoyed Rudy Giuliani’s meltdown

Jimmy Kimmel Live! already had a big night planned on Thursday with former President Barack Obama as the guest. But then the show was gifted with Rudy Giuliani’s press conference and Jimmy Kimmel made the most of it.

Beyond remarking that Giuliani was “literally dying up there,” Kimmel couldn’t help but noticed that those yelling “fake news” the loudest all have “fake heads.” The comedian went on to compare Giuliani’s appearance to something out of a sci-fi horror movie and hammered home the point with some added music.

Jimmy Fallon had to clarify that Rudy Giuliani’s hair malfunction was not written by late night TV

President Trump’s legal team has already faced criticism over its lack of evidence and apparent incompetence when it comes to making its argument. Rudy Giuliani hasn’t helped by first finding himself in controversy created by Borat and then holding a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping.

But the running, melting, sweating performance on Thursday almost seemed too good to be true. If it was a comedy bit, then you could argue things jumped the shark. But on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon reminded the audience that it really happened and was not a late night TV bit.

Seth Meyers had to take A Closer Look at Rudy Giuliani’s press conference

Late Night with Seth Meyers always enjoys seeing Rudy Giuliani in the spotlight. During the impeachment trial, President Trump’s personal lawyer was a constant source of material for “A Closer Look.” Now months later, Giuliani continues to find himself under the microscope from Meyers.

After dismantling most of Team Trump’s allegations of voter fraud, Meyers turned his attention to Giuliani’s appearance during Thursday’s press conference:

"Why is Rudy always wiping his entire face like he just got done doing CrossFit while eating a meatball sub? It’s not great when the lawyer looks like he’s about to admit to the crime."

Trevor Noah was too distracted by Rudy Giuliani’s hair dye to pay attention to anything else

It’s not a good sign that the main takeaway from a press conference alleging the greatest political scandal in American history is that Rudy Giuliani did a bad job coloring his hair. But that’s pretty much how Trevor Noah saw it on The Daily Show.
