Jerry Seinfeld and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon are teaming up for the Seinfeld Challenge
If you’ve ever wanted to perform stand-up on The Tonight Show, Jerry Seinfeld wants to help. The legendary comedian is offering his complete collection of jokes for fans for what Jimmy Fallon is calling “The Seinfeld Challenge.”
Seinfeld first performed on The Tonight Show in 1981 and had a successful debut, impressing host Johnny Carson. Everyone knows the story from there as Seinfeld continued to make late night television appearances before starting Seinfeld in 1989. The rest is comedy history.
The comedian is set to return to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a special Thanksgiving Day episode. Seinfeld will be promoting his book Is This Anything?, a complete collection of every joke he has ever written.
Rather than perform any of the material himself, Seinfeld wants the fans to try their hand at it. Below, Jimmy Fallon has the details on how you can get on The Tonight Show by performing bits written by Jerry Seinfeld.
Head over to tonightshow.com/theseinfeldchallenge to submit your clip and see if you have what it takes to land a spot on The Tonight Show. First, you’ll have to pick up a copy of Is This Anything? and find your favorite Seinfeld routine. Considering he’s been performing since the 1970s, there is no shortage of material to choose from.
Remember, Jimmy Fallon isn’t looking for a Jerry Seinfeld impression. He is more than capable of doing that himself. Everyone can do a Seinfeld impression or at the very least, an impression of Fallon’s impression.
